THE JIM MORRISON FILM FESTIVAL:

On March 27th, 1970, the Jim Morrison Film Festival takes place in Vancouver, Canada. The event is put on at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre & Orpheum Theatre by Poppin Magazine proprietors Ihor Todoruk and Hank Zevallos, and is the world premiere showing of Jim Morrison's privately produced film HWY. Although scheduled to make an appearance, Jim Morrison is unable to attend due to the obligations of his trial in Phoenix. Along with the premiere of HWY, four other films are shown, including The Doors Are Open, Feast Of Friends, Break On Through, and The Unknown Soldier. Here at MildEquator.com, we are proud to be in possession of two of the films from the festival that were kept by Ihor Todoruk, a telegram from Jim Morrison to Hank Zevallos, and a rare issue of Poppin featuring a full review of the event.
