Photographs taken by Gene Anthony and other photographers show multiple cameras filming The Doors from the foot of the stage during their performance at the Tamalpais Mountain Theater on June 10th, 1967. Although three different sources of footage have already surfaced from this show, these photographs indicate that yet more film footage was shot by members of the audience and may still exist.

A polaroid photograph by William Stout taken during the Fantasy Faire & Magic Music Festival at Devonshire Downs in Northridge, CA captures a festival attendee operating a 16mm camera. Color footage from this festival is known from the documentary Aquarius Rising, however it does not include performance footage of The Doors. There is a possibility this cameraman was the director or a crew member of the documentary, but details are unknown, and the particular filmwork shown in the above photograph is now presumed lost.

Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger are filmed backstage at the Hollywood Bowl. Paul Ferrara has confirmed that Richie Havens was filming Jim and Mick as they sat together backstage. Richie has been unable to find the footage. The only known photos from the event are of Mick Jagger and Don Steele, and do not feature Jim.

Jim Morrison has been photographed on various occasions using an Nizo S56 Super-8 camera. The earliest known event takes place in Washington D.C. 1968, and is documented by photographs taken by Paul Ferrara. The Doors are shown near the White House, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials. Jim's personal films have never been seen by the public, and are considered lost until further information can be obtained.

Another instance where Jim is photographed with his Super-8. The exact location is unknown, but appears to have been taken place at an airport during a period of travel in late August, 1968 with Frank Lisciandro and Paul Ferrara present. A photograph by Frank Lisciandro portrays a moment where Jim appears to be filming Paul with his 8mm, and Paul Ferrara is photographing Jim in return. There is a possibility these photographs were 'staged' and no actual filming took place. The whereabouts of this filmwork is unknown and only photographs of this possible filming event are known.

On April 14th 1969, Jim Morrison and Max Fink are scheduled for a hearing and appear to have been filmed by KABC Channel 7 for their recently adopted Eyewitness News format. There is much speculation about the existence of more footage in relation to the Miami trial, however only certain materials have surfaced at present date. No televised materials from this Channel 7 report have ever surfaced.

16mm film shot by Frank Lisciandro in California and Mexico City on a Bolex 16 Pro owned by Vince Treanor. This type of camera was generally used by news stations, and does not have a feature for recording audio. The cord shown in the photograph above runs to an auxiliary power box attached at the hip. It appears that The Doors entourage began shooting at The Doors office in California, then accompanied the band to Mexico City for their tour there in June 1969. In the photograph below, an audio tape can also be spotted. The exact date and complete contents of this production are unknown, and the camera can be spotted in various photographs taken by Jerry Hopkins during this time period. There is a possibility the final filmwork also included performance footage. This filmwork has never surfaced and may no longer exist.

During The Doors performance at the University of Denver in 1970, a activist group known as McKevitt's Marauders is said to have filmed and recorded the show for possible use by authorities. The performance is relatively uneventful and the footage, if anything was filmed, was most likely trashed or forgotten very quickly.

Jim Morrison's trial in Miami was covered by various different television stations in 1970. Although footage from August 1970 shot by WTVJ Channel 4 is known to collectors, a photograph taken on October 30th showing an unknown interviewer from WCKT Channel 7 is indication of more televised news reporting from the trial.

On April 9th, 1971, Jim and Pam leave Paris for Toulouse in southwest France for a three week holiday. From Toulouse they travel west to Madrid in Spain and eventually end up in Granada where they spend several days. From Granada, they travel to Morocco and various other locations including the island of Corsica in France. It is said that Pam shot numerous rolls of 8mm film to document their vacation, and photographs confirm the use of Jim Morrison's Nizo S65 camera on the trip. They eventually return to Paris on May 3rd.

Although one roll of film shot by Jim Morrison in a cemetery in Saint-Florent in Corsica has surfaced, the remaining films shot during the vacation are still unaccounted for. The exact number of films lost is currently unknown, however these likely reside in the hands of private collectors.
