Info:

During their three week engagement at the Ondine in New York in March of 1967, The Doors make the first of two 1967 appearances on Clay Cole's Diskotek with a performance of their single Break On Through. This one hour teen-age dance program features numerous performers and airs Saturdays at 6:00pm on WPIX Channel 11. While WPIX permanently switched to color in 1967, the format for Clay Cole's Diskotek remains black and white until August 19th. Research has determined that the original master tapes have all been wiped, with the only shows still known to exist are a few kinescopes and the final episodes copied by an employee of the station in December 1967.

During this first appearance on the show, Linda Eastman is present in the studio and photographs the band on stage. While TV listings in the newspapers do not mention The Doors specifically for this show, they are presumed to be included under the 'more' category, performing alongside John Gary, The Blues Project, The New Christy Minstrels, and Ruby And The Romantics. The Doors return for their second appearance on June 24 where they most likely perform Light My Fire. (See Next Listing)
