Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger give their final television performance as The Doors on this late-night talk show hosted by Dick Cavett. Originally airing on August 25th 1972 on a 90 minute episode, actual footage or videotape from this performance has been lost, however an audio recording made from the original tv broadcast is known and the songs performed are The Mosquito and Good Rockin'. Other guests on the show include German actress Elke Sommer, comedy duo Bob and Ray, actor Jim Brown, and comedian Robert Klein. Former Attorney General Ramsey Clarke also appears to give a statement concerning the release of American soldiers imprisoned in Vietnam. The Doors give their final performance as a group at the Hollywood Bowl on September 10th.

While the recording of the Dick Cavett Show is usually done earlier in the evenings and broadcast later, typically around 11:30pm, newspaper reports indicate that the filming of this episode takes place the day before on August 24th, 1972 and broadcasting is pushed back a day for this episode in particular.
