Info:

The Doors lip sync their first single Break On Through on KTLA's SHEBANG hosted by Casey Kasem less than two months after the release of their first album. Partway through this performance, Jim Morrison's microphone appears to have been turned on briefly in which someone can be heard mumbling the first chorus, however the exact details on the technical glitch are currently unknown. For years, this performance was thought to be The Doors first ever appearance on television, however a newly discovered ticket for the performance has revealed the true recording date of this show, February 25th, 1967. Although the actual broadcast date for this performance is unknown, this program normally aired on Mondays, and due to filming taking place on a Saturday, it was likely broadcast two days later on February 27th. Although a poor quality videotape transfer is known to most collectors, a clean copy of this performance was released on 2013's R-Evolution.
