BONNIE MARGOLIS INTERVIEWS THE DOORS

Publication: Discoscene Magazine
Issue: September 1967
Interview Date: Exact Date Unknown - Late June 1967
Publish Date: September 1967
Interview Location: Steve Paul's 'The Scene' - New York

Info:
An interview with The Doors by Bonnie Margolis is conducted for Discoscene Magazine at Steve Paul's The Scene on an unknown date in late June 1967. All four band members are present. A week or two prior to the interview, 16-year-old Bonnie meets Jim Morrison while The Doors are in Philadelphia for a concert at Town Hall. During the meeting, Jim Morrison buys Bonnie her very first alcoholic drink, a vodka screwdriver. He later invites Bonnie to see a performance at Steve Paul's The Scene where the Q&A session takes place. Accompanied by concert photographs taken by Bob Fuentes in Philadelphia, this article covers various subjects, including the meaning of Five To One where band members offer varying explanations. This article is first published in the September 1967 issue of Discoscene, and is also featured in regional variants of the publication. MildEquator.com would like to give a very special thanks to Bonnie Margolis for providing the history and background information on this interview!
