-Jim Morrison allegedly asks the audience if Jack Kerouac is around.
-Jack Kerouac is likely living in St. Petersburg, Florida at this time.

"It was a good show as usual when the Commodore was open. Sad to see it go. On its current site it's now a train/bus station. As far as The Doors are concerned I immediately picked up on the fact that though the show was in 1967, I was wondering why Jim Morrison was holding on to the standup mic with his eyes closed. But near the end he suddenly jumped back and took his hands off the mic as if there was some kind of ground problem and he got shocked.

Quite frankly I of course remember Light My Fire and like everyone else I was focused on that, as keep in mind they were new to the area, and if you were asked about them you thought right away Light-My-Fire, and unfortunately I don't remember what other songs were done. Did Jim Morrison ask about Jack Kerouac? It's quite possible he did as other artists have while playing here like Dylan and Eric Burdon.

I saw many groups back then, even saw Beatles twice in Boston 1964 and 1966 of course remember more of those shows because we were at the time bombarded with Beatlemania and I do remember the biggest reaction to the 1966 Beatles show was George Harrison doing If I Needed Someone and do remember Bobby Hebb doing Sunny and Barry And The Remains and their songs. I think The Ronettes and members of the Kennedy family were several rows in front of us.

I'm a ticket collector as well as vinyl and sheet music but unfortunately my Beatles ticket stubs were thrown out by a relative while I was in the military and no one saved the Commodore tickets as we were there so often and saw all the groups. I went to the Beatles with friends at the 'old' Boston Garden and remember being ridiculed by an uncle for having purchased two $4.00 tickets at Suffolk Downs, quote: "you spent THAT much money to see that group?"
