-This is a 2,600 seat tent/amphitheatre venue that runs temporarily through the summer months beginning in 1968.
-The 1968 Smithville Music Fair runs from July 1st to September 1st.
-On June 29th newspapers begin reporting that The Doors will perform on August 26th.
-Newspaper ads for The Doors performance run from July 29th to August 9th.
-The Doors cancel this engagement due to committments on the west coast and cannot make it to the east for one night.
-On August 16th newspaper ads begin to reflect Big Brother and The Holding Co. for this date.
-On August 22nd newspapers are still reporting that The Doors will perform.
-On August 24th it is announced that Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels plus The Shirelles will perform on this date.
-Tickets for The Doors performance are accepted for admission to Mitch Ryder and The Shirelles.
-The Doors perform in Asbury Park on August 31st.
