SCREENING DATES:

FEAST OF FRIENDS

Throughout 1969 and 1970 following the completion of Feast Of Friends, the film is taken on the road for screenings in numerous film festivals, theater runs, and other events. At the Atlanta International Film Festival in June 1969, the film wins the Golden Phoenix award. Jim Morrison attends many of these screenings with friends like Frank Lisciandro or Michael McClure, and occasionally participates as a judge, or by giving a poetry reading. He is also known to have distributed copies of his privately printed poetry books to proprietors at various events. Synopsis:

"A free-wheeling glimpse into the world of popular music as experienced by the Doors during one of their tours. There are times when the film achieves the height of science-fiction, as we observe members of an overwrought audience hurtle themselves through a gauntlet of police guards in order to touch Jim Morrison and the contrast between turmoil and moments of peace (ending in a dreamlike sail to a Golden Valhalla) is strangely barbaric and gentle at the same time.
